Who We Are

AROWIST (African Immigrant Women Youth and Children Ry) is an international non-governmental organisation based in Turku, Finland. The Association was founded in 2024, during our first meeting on the status and well-being of African women immigrants in Turku. AFROWIST is dedicated to empowering African immigrant women and their families with information and knowledge about integrating into Finnish work life, education, culture, and social wellbeing.

Providing mentorship and social clubs for immigrant youth, promoting African cultural activities, and exchanging cultures between Africans and Finns.
